Redeemer Lutheran Church was founded in 1986 to provide a central place of worship in Manchester, NJ and to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the surrounding community.  The building was expanded in 1990 to include a Fellowship Hall and extra space for Sunday School activities.

We are part of the SELC District of the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod (LCMS), a Bible-based, mission-oriented, confessional Christian denomination.  Our Church is founded upon the teachings of Martin Luther and is headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri.

Our Mission

Redeemer Lutheran Church of Manchester is a Bible based, Christ centered, welcoming family of God, bringing the love of Jesus through caring, teaching, and outreach.

Deaconess helen deMario (Retired)

Deaconess Helen has always lived in southern New Jersey actively serving as a layperson in the Lutheran Church.  She worked as a dental hygienist in the Galloway area where she and her husband, John, raised their four children and became part of the start up of Redeemer’s mission congregation, Peace Galloway.  Deaconess received her Bachelors Degree in Social Work from St. Joseph’s College and was thrilled to develop Peace Lutheran Preschool where she taught for over ten years.  In 2007, she was called to Deaconess Ministry, receiving her Masters Degree from Concordia University, Chicago and was commissioned in 2011 as Deaconess at Peace Lutheran Church in Galloway.

Deaconess has served at Redeemer since 2014 where she was called to visitation ministry to the ill and many homebound members of the congregation.  She is looking forward to continuing to serve alongside Pastor Berteau in whatever ways the Lord has need of her.

Worship

We hold worship services each week:  Sundays at 10:15 am, and Saturdays at 4:00 pm (additional services during Advent and Lent). Sunday School is meeting in-person at 9:00 am.

Our worship services follow a more traditional format, often utilizing liturgical services and hymns found in the Lutheran Service Book.  We serve the Lord's Supper every week.  Our devoted choir sings every Sunday. Also, Pastor Berteau will do children's sermons during the Sunday worship service(s).
