Redeemer Lutheran Church was founded in 1986 to provide a central place of worship in Manchester, NJ and to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the surrounding community. The building was expanded in 1990 to include a Fellowship Hall and extra space for Sunday School activities.

We are part of the SELC District of the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod (LCMS), a Bible-based, mission-oriented, confessional Christian denomination. Our Church is founded upon the teachings of Martin Luther and is headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri.

Our Mission

We strive to know Christ and to make Him known to all, to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ, make new disciples, and encourage the identification and use of spiritual gifts among the congregation and community.

She worked as a dental hygienist in the Galloway area where she and her husband, John, raised their four children and became part of the start up of Redeemer’s mission congregation, Peace Galloway. Deaconess received her Bachelors Degree in Social Work from St. Joseph’s College and was thrilled to develop Peace Lutheran Preschool where she taught for over ten years. In 2007, she was called to Deaconess Ministry, receiving her Masters Degree from Concordia University, Chicago and was commissioned in 2011 as Deaconess at Peace Lutheran Church in Galloway.

Deaconess has served at Redeemer since 2014 where she was called to visitation ministry to the ill and many homebound members of the congregation. She is looking forward to continuing to serve alongside Pastor Berteau in whatever ways the Lord has need of her.

Worship

We hold three services each week: Sundays at 8:30 and 11:00am, and Saturdays at 4:00pm.  We also hold additional services during Advent and Lent.
Between mid-June and Labor Day, our Sunday services shift to 8:30 and 10:00am.

Our services follow a more traditional form of worship, often utilizing liturgical services and hymns in the Lutheran Services Book.  We serve the Lord's Supper every other week. Our devoted choir sings every Sunday at one of the two services. Pastor Berteau will do children's sermons during the late Sunday services.

Following Sunday services during the school year, we provide a coffee hour allowing additional time for fellowship between members and visitors.  Sunday School, Confirmation, and Bible Study take place between the services, starting at 9:45.
